Be on the Lookout!
An Avoca resident recently reported to the town office his neighbor had someone at his door at about 2:30 am saying he'd run out of gas. Footprints were found in the snow proving the individual had been walking around the garage and house as well. Shortly after, the county sheriff car was driving around Avoca.
Let's keep our eyes open and ears alert to anything out of the oridinary and report to the appropiate athorities.

Plattsmouth Tobacco License Holders Earn 100% Compliance Rate
Tobacco Education & Advocacy of the Midlands (T.E.A.M.) has completed tobacco compliance checks in February 2019. This is the first time since 2013 that T.E.A.M. and the Plattsmouth Police Department has seen a 100% compliance outcome. None of the 8 retail businesses checked sold tobacco products to a minor, resulting in a 100% percent compliance rate.
T.E.A.M. collaborates with the Plattsmouth Police Department to check tobacco license holders on a regular basis. Youth volunteers assist with the compliance checks, they use their own identification and make no attempt to appear older than the legal purchase age.
βI am pleased with the results of the recent Tobacco compliance checks that were conducted in Plattsmouth,β added Officer Leroy Lewis, Plattsmouth Police Department. βIt goes to show that businesses do care about the illegal selling of tobacco to under age juveniles, and the 100% success rate this year proves just that.β
Tobacco Education & Advocacy of the Midlands is a coalition of health-related organizations, educational and community groups, and individuals. Its mission is to educate and advocate for healthy tobacco-free communities. For more information, visit teamtobaccofree.org.
