Before their distinctive nickname stuck, the University of Nebraska’s football team was known as the Old Gold Knights, the Antelopes, the Rattlesnake Boys, and the Bugeaters. Apparently tired of referring to his team as “the Bugeaters," a Nebraska sportswriter borrowed "Cornhusker," a term used by a team in the neighboring state of Iowa. But no hard feelings—Iowa seemed to prefer “the Hawkeyes” anyway.

The Memory Lane Museum in Weeping Water has a new schedule as follows:

SALUTE to the OSCARS' 90th ANNIVERSARY!

Stop in to see costumes, props and scripts from Oscar winners!

Area Food Banks

The Louisville Area Food Bank will be open on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 6-7 p.m. The food bank is located in the First Christian Church 304 Main St. next to Copple's in Louisville. Low income residents are welcome to come to the twice a month give away. Please bring a box to put items in. This food bank is for residents of the Louisville Public School District.

Cornhusker Country Music Theater!

We now have a DANCE FLOOR right in front of the stage!
Put on your dancing shoes and come on over for a good time! If you don't want to dance, you can still enjoy the live music!

For those of you who aspire to write a great song, we'll be hosting a songwriter's clinic. So put on your thinking caps and bring your best ideas and join us. Who knows? Maybe together we'll be writing the next big hit that will be played world-wide!
